Art of the Triplets of Belleville

The Triplets of Belleville is an animation movie produced by Les Armateurs, Production Champion, Vivi Film, France 3 Cinéma and RGP Productions. The movie was directed by Sylvain Chomet in 2003 and was highly praised by audiences and critics for its unique style of animation. It was nominated for two Academy Awards: for Best Animated Feature ( making it the first PG-13 animated film to be nominated in that category), and for Best Original Song (Benoît Charest and Sylvain Chomet for the song "Belleville Rendez-vous", sung by Matthieu Chedid in the original version). THE STORY

Madame Souza becomes involved in international intrigue when her grandson, Champion, a professional cyclist, is kidnapped and taken abroad. Joined by her faithful dog, Bruno, Madame Souza embarks on a journey to find Champion, and stumbles across unlikely allies in the form of three sisters who are veterans of the vaudeville stage. Tracking down Champion's criminal captors, the quartet of old women use their wits to try and win the day…
